Detailed itinerary suggestion for a self drive tour in the Baltics for 9 days:

Day 1. ... - VILNIUS (Lithuania)
Arrival in Vilnius. Pick-up your rental car, transfer to the hotel (7 km), free time, overnight in Vilnius.

Day 2. VILNIUS (Lithuania)
A Day for exploring Vilnius.

Day 3. VILNIUS - KERNAVE - TRAKAI - KAUNAS (Lithuania)
Drive to Kernave, the historical capital of Lithuania (40 km), which is now the world-famous archeological World Heritage site and the state-of-the-art Archelogical Museum.
Visit Trakai (40 km), yet another ancient capital of Lithuania. Stroll the town along the narrow streets with typical buildings, kenesa, the praying house of caraims, the local ethnic minority, the medieval Trakai Castle among the lakes.
Continue to Kaunas. Suggestions to visit in Kaunas: ethnographic open-air museum of Rumsiskes (20 km to Kaunas), the baroque Monastery of Pazaislis, 9th Fort, old town, Freedom Avenue. Overnight in Kaunas.

Day 4. KAUNAS - CURONIAN SPIT - KLAIPEDA (Lithuania)
Drive to Klaipeda (200 km), take a ferry to the Curonian Spit and drive to Nida (55 km), visit Juodkrante en-route (Mount of Witches). The Curonian spit is a 98 km long and ~1.5 km wide sand-dune spit, separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. 51 km of the spit belongs to Lithuania, the rest - to Kaliningrad. The spit is on the World Heritage list of the UNESCO.
Return to Klaipeda for overnight. 

Day 5. KLAIPEDA - PALANGA - Hill of Crosses - Rundale - RIGA (Lithuania - Latvia)
Drive to Palanga (30 km), enjoy the white sandy beach, stroll in the botanical garden, visit the Amber Museum. Then drive in the direction of Siauliai (120 km), and stop by the world-unique Hill of Crosses (14 km beyond Siauliai). Then proceed to Latvia, Rundale and visit the magnificent local baroque palace, constructed by Rastrelli. Continue to Riga (80 km), arrival and overnight.

Day 6. RIGA - Jurmala - RIGA (Latvia)
Day for exploring Riga and its famous resort suburb Jurmala (20 km).

Day 7. RIGA - Park Gauja - PARNU - TALLINN (Latvia - Estonia)
Departure to the National Park of Gauja (55km), visit of the park and Turaida castle (museum of history may seem similar to Trakai Castle in Lithuania, but the views from the tower are much different). Departure for Estonia. Arrive in Parnu (175 km), the main resort town of Estonia. Continuation to Tallinn (130 km). Arrival and overnight in Tallinn.

Day 8. TALLINN (Estonia)
Day for exploring the capital of Estonia.

Day 9. TALLINN - ...
Free time, departure to the airport (6 km), drop-off the car.

The cars are all new (up to 3 years old) and rented from our trusted and contracted rent-a-car companies. As always at the time of confirmation rental cars are beeing confirmed with category/class and not with a certain make. Rent-a-car company is obliged to upgrade to a higher car category if the booked one is not available at the time of delivery to the customer. Driver must be at least 21 years of age and must hold a valid driver's licence with at least 2 years of experience. Collission and Theft Insurances are included with excess amount of 435 Eur.
